Welcome!
The Coach House at Boords Farm is located on the edge of the small Somerset village of Batcombe within the grounds of the 17C thatched farmhouse. It has been restored by local craftsmen to offer very comfortable accommodation; 21st Century facilities including a dedicated telephone line, free wi-fi and solar panels for hot water.
The Coach House is available for rent on a self-catering basis, for either short or long stays. For any booking the cottage will be ready for you; beds made, flowers arranged and a tray ready for a welcome cuppa.
We hope that you will find the cottage equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable, easy and welcoming. Visitors just need to plan for their personal needs and stock up on their groceries.
The Coach House faces south and the gardens enjoy wonderful extensive views over Somerset countryside.
The cottage is inspected annually and has a four star rating. We also have a full fire risk assessment and accessibility statement.
There are many excellent walks directly from the cottage through open countryside across and along the valleys using a network of footpaths. ( maps can be provided). You can climb up above the village and look out for miles. There is a iron-age encampment nearby and we have rolled down the steep hill in the snow! You can follow the mill leat to Spargrove, a tiny hamlet less than 3 miles away.
Boords Farm has a swimming pool (heated in summer) and tennis court which guests are welcome to use at convenient times.
Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult when using these facilities. Sports shoes only on the tennis court please.
